Congrats to HSS team rider Courtney Conologue on her runner up finish!
HUNTINGTON BEACH, California/USA (Monday, August 16, 2010) – Courtney Conlogue (Santa Ana, CA), 17, donated an impressive performance at the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) 6-Star Billabong Women’s Azores Islands Pro presented by Nissan to finish second behind reigning ASP Women’s World Junior Champion Laura Enever (AUS), 19, moving the Orange county standout to No. 5 on the ASP Women’s World Ranking.
Women competing on the ASP Star series are out to finish atop the international ratings in hopes to qualify for the prestigious ASP Women’s Dream Tour. Once qualified, they earn the right to battle for the title of ASP Women’s World Champion.
Conlogue launched out to an early lead in the tough Final against Enever, putting the young Australian in need of a combination of two scores in the beginning of their matchup. Unfortunately for the young Californian, Enever capitalized on two clutch waves in the back half of the heat to usurp Conlogue for the win.
